On August 8, at the Shanghai SNEC exhibition, Jolywood Group announced that the cooperation with the Belgian Microelectronics Research and Development Center (IMEC) will be further upgraded. In the future, the two parties will continue to strengthen their cooperation in the field of N-type bifacial photovoltaic technology. IMEC is the world's leading R&D and innovation center in the fields of nanoelectronics and digital technology. Since the two parties reached a cooperation agreement in 2016, they have maintained close cooperation and jointly achieved multiple breakthroughs in the efficiency of N-type bifacial cells.

Speaking of the cooperation with Jolywood, IMEC’s Leader DongSu said: “Jolywood and IMEC have established a long-term and reliable partnership. Both parties have a common pursuit of photovoltaic technology. It is a great honor to sign a new cooperation agreement with Jolywood. The two parties will continue to focus on close cooperation in the field of N-type bifacial photovoltaics and launch more and more high-performance photovoltaic products."

In recent years, as the world's leading manufacturer of N-type TOPCon bifacial technology, Jolywood has been focusing on the research and development of N-type technology including N-type TOPCon, N-type IBC, TBC, etc. Dr. Zhifeng Liu, general manager of Jolywood, said: “The average mass production conversion efficiency of our N-type cells can be as high as 24%, which is much more efficient than traditional P-type cells. Moreover, N-type modules have no LID problem, and the annual degradation is less than 0.4%. This means that the power of N-type modules can still maintain more than 87.4% after 30 years. We will continue to increase R&D investment this year to further optimize the conversion efficiency of N-type bifacial modules. N-type TOPCon technology will become the mainstream technology next few years in photovoltaic market."

At present, the front conversion efficiency of the N-type bifacial cell that has been mass-produced by Jolywood is as high as 24%, which has reached the top level of mass production technology in the industry and far exceeded everyone's expectations. This is the result of long-term close cooperation between the two parties. Based on the previous good cooperation, the two parties decided to further increase cooperation and expand the scope of cooperation. While continuing to optimize the process, efficiency, and achievable equipment of the N-type bifacial cells, they will also increase different packaging technologies and the research of different packaging materials on solar module reliability and power generation.
